My name is Kelly Burke, and I am very excited to be your new music teacher. I was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. I began my musical adventure through singing in my school’s children’s choir, and then joining band by playing the clarinet. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education at VanderCook College of Music. There, I learned how to play every instrument, and how to conduct and teach every kind of ensemble or music class. I also developed proficiencies on other instruments like the voice, viola, and French horn.
What else is there to know about me? Well, I love theater. I have been in a few plays and musicals throughout my time in grade school, high school, and college. I am also currently playing clarinet in the Ketchikan Community Concert Band.
Being able to teach your children is an exciting opportunity for me. I am thrilled to be able to watch and help them grow as young musicians.
