Welcome Letter 2017

Dear Parents,

Hello from your child’s third and fourth grade teachers – Mr. Shultz & Mrs. Rauwolf!

We are honored to be teaching here at Tongass School of Arts and Sciences and look forward to spending the school year with your child! We know that this new school year will have many opportunities for fun, learning, and personal academic growth. We welcome your involvement and anticipate a warm partnership between your home and our school.

We are excited to embark on this year-long journey with your child. It is our goal that your kiddo is challenged and finds success during these 3rd and 4th grade years. We will work as a team to create a community of learners – a place where all students feel safe, empowered, and motivated. Every person is unique and has different strengths and weaknesses; we acknowledge that there are multiple intelligences and we strive to honor these alternate ways of acquiring and showing knowledge.

Your child’s education and well-being are very important to us and we will do what it takes to ensure that each student feels accepted and comfortable. The children will be able to speak and share their thoughts and experiences. We will model patience, kindness, empathy, perseverance, and respect as a way to let all of our students know that this is expected in our classrooms.

We look forward to a great school year!!
